bullet boy trailer

The narrative for the film Bullet Boy is: about a man recently off parole attempting to straighten out his life, with negative results.
While on his way home from prison with his friend Wisdom, a wing mirror is hit off of another gangster's car by Wisdom who refuses to pay for it. Ricky, played by Ashley Walters, hides a gun in his room which his little brother Curtis finds.
Wisdom attempts to hunt down the gang member, named Godfrey, for spreading word that he doesn't want to fight, and to get revenge shoots his stafforshire terrier that he threatened Wisdom with earlier. As a result, Godfrey destroys Wisdom's car with a baseball bat and drives past his home shouting that he is "dead". Wisdom tries to kill Godfrey before he gets killed by him himself, but fails and is seen by Godfrey.
As the two flee from here, Curtis accidentally shoots his friend Rio when Rio suggests they take the gun out and play with it, and their mother eventually asks Ricky to leave the home.
Just before heading home, he goes to Wisdom's house to get the money Wisdom told him to take before he left, only to find Wisdom dead, presumably at the hands of his rival, he leaves after sitting there for a long time thinking. As he packs his bags, he asks Curtis to go to the takeaway and get a kebab, and when Curtis returns, his brother has already left. As Ricky is waiting at the train station, two gangsters approach him.
As Ricky is about to run away, Godfrey comes out and shoots him six times in the chest. His body is later identified, and the film ends with Curtis reclaiming the gun from where he hid it and throwing it in to the river.

setting of the in the trailer is seen as being a slum or ghetto, this is easily said because the typical stereo type attached to a area inhabited by people of a African Caribbean origins is normally seen as being a ghetto. In the trailer there is a distinctive image of a tower block, this is a sign of poverty in London and is therefore associated with the black ethnicity and poverty of London, this puts a sense of reason in the audiences minds, as they can see that there is a poverty struck area, gangs are inevitable, gang wars are inevitable and crime in all shapes and forms are inevitable.

Toderovs theory of equilibrium is not easily done for trailers as it mostly applies to the films, but from the trailer you can see that there is no set equilibrium in the start, you can see a state of equilibrium when there is a scene where the protagonist hugs his brother and there is a scene where the car is going through the streets, you could say that this is the equilibrium because everyday struggles are expected in the ghetto. disequilibrium happens when the police raid his house and keeps everybody at gun point, there is a reason to that but the audience doesn't find out until the next scene in which the little brother of the protagonist is holding a gun. only a glimpse of new equilibrium is seen when at the end of the trailer when there are two boys running through the field.
